Canasta is a card game that originated in South America around 1940, and was extremely fashionable in the 50′s threatening for a while to displace contract bridge as the premier card game. We play Modern America Canasta best played with 4, 8 or 12 etc., in partnerships. Winners are the first team to achieve a score of 8500 or more points. Two 52 card packs plus 4 jokers are shuffled together to make a 108-card pack.
The game is challenging and a lot of fun to play. If you have never played or previously played, we will give you guidance. Come find out for yourself by joining our group.
The Canasta Group meets every Monday from 11:30-3:45 at Temple Har Shalom, 3700 N Brookside Ct, Park City. The game is challenging, yet easy to learn (we will help you through the first few weeks). We are a great group of welcoming and interesting people. Please contact Liz Fellows at firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the email list for weekly notices.
